How to hide WhatsApp chats using Archive chats

WhatsApp Archive chats feature allows you to hide a conversation from main Chats screen and keep it in the extream bottom of the same chat screen. In this way, the chats are quite hard to find because someone may not scroll to the bottom of the screen usually. You can archive both individual chats and group chats.

Actually, this feature doesn’t delete the conversions or back it up in the SD card. It just creates a separate folder on WhatsApp and keeps them inside it.

Here are some simple steps you can follow to archive chats.

To Archive a chat

• Open your WhatsApp app and find the chat you want to hide.
• Long press on the chat of the contact you want to Archive.
• Then the Archive icon will appear on the top bar.
• Tap on the icon and now your chat is archived, then It will not appear on your Chats screen. As simple as that.

WhatsApp also gives the option to archive all chats.

Go to Settings >> Chats >> Chat history >> Archive all chats

Note that archived chats will reappear if you receive a new message from that archive conversation.

To unarchive a chat

• Scroll to the bottom of the chat screen
• You will find the Archive chat option. Tap on that.
• Long press on the chat of the contact you want to unarchive
• Then the unarchive icon will appear on the top bar.
• Tap on the icon and now your chat is unarchived. Now it will appear again on the chats screen.

Note – Some people recommend some third party apps to hide chats. You will find people are recommending GBWhatsApp app. But it is never recommended to use GBWhatsApp.
